Great kick-off for uiji-do and first training session at yeoljeong

On 22nd of September, uiji-do Traditional Taekwondo launched in Heidelberg's city centre. 🎉

We would like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who made this possible! 💕

3 different age groups have started training, and minis, kids and adults are showing up for training with beaming faces.

On 4th of October (after only two weeks of training!), 4 brave kids 💪 joined me on a trip to Schriesheim to visit yeoljeong Taekwon-Do for a training session and to watch the children's exams.

In addition to regular training, there are always extra courses like this. And so, we’re already looking forward to next Saturday. Then we will visit Julia from kkeungi Traditional Taekwon Do in Ludwigsburg for three different training sessions and a visit at the pumpkin festival. 🤜 🤗

Schriesheim summer festival and exams in Mainz

A weekend full of taekwondo experiences. Many thanks to Sonja, Beatriz, Peter and Frank for the opportunity to hold a course at the yeoljeong Taekwon-Do summer festival in Schriesheim! So many motivated, beaming trainees are a highlight!

When we were guests in Mainz, Andy passed his green belt exam with ease as a joint student of Julia and me. His passion for traditional Taekwon-Do had taken hold of him in Göppingen - he has been training with Julia at her school in Ludwigsburg (kkeungi Traditional Taekwon Do) for a year now and has found his new Taekwondo home there.

A week full of traditional taekwondo for kids

Traditional taekwondo for kids took place 5 times this week in Heidelberg: as part of the parents' project week at the HPC primary school and as part of the TopNotes Summer Camp. The kids learnt lots of blocks and kicks and then tested their accuracy and strength on targets.

They all started with different prerequisites and by the end of the week they were all familiar with the techniques, so we had a training like in the Taekwondo school.

I am proud of the kids - what they have learnt and shown - but above all how happy they are when they succeed in their moves.

I feel the same way! And so I can hardly wait for the regular start of training in September.

Every end is a new beginning

In Göppingen I ran the Uiji-Do school for traditional Taekwon-Do for two years, building it up from the scratch. Today it is a growing community of athletes who are fascinated by this martial art.

The values that are practiced here are certainly something unique. Sportiness for health comes first. During training, the trainees have already learned many complex techniques and ensured that they do something good for themselves and for their own health. All of this creates more self-confidence and mental strength. A community has developed around the school and includes committed parents.

I put my heart and soul into running the school, but unfortunately there was no suitable successor, so I gave my last training session in Göppingen in June 2024.

I would like to thank all the students and their parents for the wonderful time!

See you again soon around Heidelberg, where I am now moving to and where a new Taekwon-Do school will be built!

Stay healthy and fit!
